Execution and design

What will mentors and mentees do together?

1. Get to know one another, get comfortable with each other
2. Build momentum, find a common ground, set goals
3. Periodically reflect on progress
4. Closure at the end of semester/term

Partnership levels

- high school student + college student
- college student + professional

High school student + college student linking

**1. Get list of startup ideas from Attollo Scholars to begin possibly matching them with Entrepreneurial Minor Students.
Wednesday, 9/26 Fireside Chat 7:00pm...

**2. Sundae Challenge event invitation
- 10/30 6:00pm
**2. Do a mini start up weekend with teams!!!!!! OMGOMG (good timing for Attollo I think)
- Could just be the students or could be campus inclusive.... or is that harder with high schooler involvement?

**3. Add Workshop event to our calendar in spring, for time to work on their project in a space where they can utilize each other.

College student linking + Professional linking

**1. Meeting about 3 times throughout the semester during a students Practicum class. They're developing their idea, and putting the details together for their business plan. (If not, what course DOES this go down in?) There are simple ways to ensure the meeting is value drivenThe student should have 3-5 questions prepared for the meeting, geared towards improving their current progress. The student should present one snippet of information/trick they learned outside of class in regards to the business plan process. In other words, the student should get a minute to teach. This is a common aspect of mentoring sessions I've come to find. The meeting should probably be around an hour or two so that real progress can be made, but the groups don't feel rushed. It's more than help on a project its an experience working with a mentor and its networking.

**2. Mentors can come watch pitch to help students on it, similarly to the startup weekend how we had help crafting our pitch, too.

Application

- Most mentor programs have an application process whether they target young kids or young adults.
- We should probably establish a basic application for the sole purpose of matching our mentors and students. I'll type up a rough draft for each.

Application in action.... This morning Nancy and I spent some time organizing the content we have for the website. A major part of our whole program will be the application process. We have identified key points:
1. There will be 4 different applications
- 1 app/bio for mentors geared towards helping a defined business + score mentors
- 1 app/bio will be for mentors geared towards helping with ideation/workshops
- 1app/bio will be for mentees with a defined business... giving them the option of a score mentor.
- 1 app/boi will be for mentees still in the ideation/workshop phase

**Maybe a goal of the program should be graduating to a Score mentor.

2. Add questions in comment...
A. Would you be willing to help with an idea/concept?
B. Would you prefer to work 1 on 1 or in a group (workshop)?
B2. If interested in conducting a workshop, what is your area of expertise to be focused on?
C. Add a how did you hear about us question... to get where they are coming from.

3. Should the application come first, or the decision about helping an established business or with ideation?

4. How do we put the application online?

I'll be conducting user testing to answer these red questions.................................

User Testing Results pt. 1

Some key points a got out of my small test sample

- People need to know what score is upfront
- Our app/bio idea was getting confused a lot with profiles
- Confusion with "both" option.... both what?
- Need to clearly define that this is business mentoring
- Maybe for our *Qualifiers* we could create little interactive quizzes to determine peoples wants/needs and where they'd fit best.
- A student suggested initiating the suggestions and questions... for guidance.
Ex) Suggestions popping up based on a personal list of interests.

  3. For the website I think there are a few key things we need to touch on about this mentor program. Things I had in mind were: 1. Our mission 2. Our goals for the program 3. Our matching process.
My "touch on" I mean I think we should write up a paragraph or so explaining each of those things to be displayed to anyone viewing the page

  4. Also adding a detailed description of what a mentor is/what a mentee is.

  5. Now try to do Card Sorting for User Experience (UX)
I would recommend Closed Card Sorting vs. Open Card Sorting
